Mountains have featured in many of our journeys, whether we’ve been driving through dramatic landscapes, hiking to a viewpoint or simply stopping to take in the scenery. For us, mountain travel is as much about the journey through the landscape as it is about reaching a particular summit.
Our first-hand experiences include the Scottish Highlands, the Alps and Dolomites, the Balkans, Norway and other mountainous destinations we’ve explored together. Along the way, we’ve discovered scenic mountain roads, remote villages, lakes, waterfalls, hiking trails and places where the landscape becomes the main attraction.
Mountain travel doesn’t always mean serious trekking. Some of our favourite experiences have involved a scenic drive, an easy walk or simply finding a quiet viewpoint and taking the time to enjoy it together.
